We’ll call you the week of your trip to confirm order details and get boot and wader sizing. If you booked a full-day trip, we’ll gather any dietary requirements so we can accommodate them for your lunch on the river.

A Colorado state fishing license and guide gratuity are not included in the booking price.

If you’re in Colorado, a fishing license can be purchased at most sporting goods stores and fly shops, or online from the Colorado Parks and Wildlife website.

Weather in Colorado is unpredictable, especially at high elevation where changes in temperature, wind, and precipitation can sneak up on you. Bring polarized sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen, bug spray, rain gear, socks, and layered clothing.

No, you do not need to have fly fishing gear. We provide rod, waders, boots, and flies. You are more than welcome to use your own gear if you prefer.

We believe a client-to-guide ratio of no more than 2 provides the best experience for both parties. For a group of four, you’ll get two guides — our booking system lets you book multiple Two Person bookings when we have the guides available.

Lodging is not included, and transportation is not included.

Payment is due in full at the time of booking.

We strictly practice catch and release in an effort to help our fisheries maintain healthy fish populations.

We love introducing kids to fly fishing. However, we cannot guide anyone under the age of 8 years old.

Cancel more than 48 hours in advance for a refund, less booking and credit-card fees; within 48 hours is charged the full amount. To reschedule or change your group size, do so 24 hours in advance. All trips depart rain or shine — Tailwater Outfitters reserves the right to cancel or reschedule for weather (lightning), river levels, or extenuating circumstances at no cost to you.
